  • Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (MANIT) is one of the leading institutions of national importance in technical education. Established with the objective of developing a ‘Centre of Excellence in Central India, it aims at becoming a multi-disciplinary centre for technical education by strengthening both teaching and research activities besides contributing to the needs of rural community, society and industry at large. This Institutional Digital Repository (IDR) has been developed jointly by the Central Computing Facility and Central Library for the institute. to the scholarly output of the institute. The core objective of the repository will be to collect, preserve and distribute of the scholarly contents and other institutional documents produced by MANIT Bhopal community members. All the contents may include, but is not limited to, copyright-compliant and will follow the strict gumlines of the policy formulated by the central library and will be subject to change in consent from the competent authority time to time.

We are delighted to present yet another issue of the Library Bulletin, highlighting the continuous efforts made to transform the library into a vibrant, user-friendly, and intellectually enriching space. This issue showcases several recent developments, including renovated facilities, a newly upgraded washroom for girls, modern furniture for comfortable reading, air-conditioned halls, and extended reading hours designed to enhance usersconvenience and learning experience. The bulletin also reflects the professional engagements of the librarian, awareness sessions, orientation programmes, and SMS services introduced to strengthen communication and encourage greater library use. Special attention has been given to accessibility through bilingual signboards for easy navigation within the library premises. In addition, upgraded software systems have ensured smoother and more efficient library operations. We hope these initiatives continue to inspire reading, learning, and meaningful engagement with library resources.

It gives us immense pleasure to present the anniversary issue of our Library Bulletin, marking a successful completion of one year of its uninterrupted publication. Over the past twelve months, the bulletin has evolved into a meaningful platform for sharing developments, initiatives, and professional insights related to our library and its services. The encouraging response received from library professionals and administrators has been truly motivating. It is particularly gratifying to note that the bulletin’s content, readability, and relevance have inspired several libraries to initiate their own newsletters. Such recognition reflects the growing importance of communication and knowledge sharing within the library community. This anniversary issue highlights several significant developments and activities of the past two months. It documents library visits, professional contributions of our staff, and the conduct of Karmayogi programmes for the Institute's staff. We are also pleased to report the establishment of a BIS Corner and the renovation of the library premises, including upgraded reading halls. In addition, information about trial resources and other initiatives aimed at strengthening access to knowledge has been included. As we celebrate this milestone, we remain committed to further enriching our services and strengthening professional engagement. We sincerely thank our readers and contributors for their continued encouragement and support.

As we bring out the last issue of Volume 1 of our bi-monthly Library Bulletin, it is a moment of pride and gratitude for the Central Library team. The encouraging response and enthusiasm shown by our readers for the last five issues have been truly heartening. Your engagement has reaffirmed the Bulletin’s role as a meaningful platform for sharing knowledge, highlighting scholarly activities, and strengthening our connection with the MANIT Bhopal community. This concluding issue of Volume 1 reflects the vibrancy and diversity of initiatives undertaken by the Central Library. It features the celebration of National Library Week, emphasizing the library’s evolving role in supporting teaching, learning, and research. The Connect with the Scholars section showcases intellectual exchange & collaboration, while updates on library activities highlight our continuous efforts to enhance services and resources. Readers will also find information on Databases on Trial and Demos, aimed at introducing new tools to support research and discovery. Further, this issue presents insights from the Library User Survey, offering valuable perspectives that guide future improvements. It gives us great pleasure to present you the fifth issue of our bimonthly Library Bulletin. Over the past ten months, this publication has grown into an important platform for sharing the initiatives, developments, and achievements of the Central Library and its dedicated staff. We are encouraged by the positive feedback and warm reception it has received from our readers, and this continued support motivates us to strive for even higher standards of service and engagement. The last two months have been particularly eventful for us. The demonstration sessions by various publishers designed to help users make better and more effective use of our ever-expanding resources. Our outreach efforts to scholars have strengthened academic connections and opened new avenues for collaboration. A major highlight during this period has been the renovation of key library spaces, undertaken with the aim of improving comfort, accessibility, and overall user experience. We believe that a well-designed environment significantly enhances learning and research. We are also delighted to share that the newly launched library website enables users to locate and access resources with greater ease and immediacy. As we release this issue, we reaffirm our commitment to serving our scholarly community with dedication and innovation.
